Every year, Terry Garner hauls his 400 c.i. ’73 Vega wagon down to Orlando and puts on a show for the fans in Heavy Street qualifying. After a long, smoky burnout, Garner served up this chassis-twisting launch before having to abort the run and winding up 48th of 50 entrants in the class.

Bill Lutz started his weekend with an 8.40/145.48 effort that netted him 20th place in qualifying with his turbocharged ’67 Camaro. Lutz, from Canal Winchester, OH, had a free pass over the ’69 Camaro of Pipersville, PA’s Kenny Doak in the first round of eliminations.
