BARKLAGE AEROMOTIVE NITRO COUPES SET TORRID PACE AT O'REILLY SUPER CHEVY SHOW INDY
Brothers Cody and Zach Barklage of Missouri have been a force to be reckoned with during any Aeromotive Nitro Coupe Challenge contest this year, and it definitely played out that way at O'Reilly Motorsports Park at Indianapolis.
Zach's 1957 Chevy Aeromotive Nitro Coupe qualified #1 on Saturday with a 6.178 second blast at 230.69 mph. The only other competitor in shouting distance of that shot was Scott Palmer of Branson, MO, who happened to be driving Cody Barklage's 2006 Pontiac GTO Aeromotive Nitro Coupe. Scott turned in a 6.226 at 230.37 which left their closest competitor well back.
The finals turned out that way as well, but this time Palmer came out on top, running a 6.231 at 229.31 miles per hour to Zach Barklage's 13.453 brought on by mechanical gremlins.
