ADLER FIGHTS BACK FOR
NITRO COUPE WIN IN MICHIGAN

Defending Nitro Coupe Challenge world champ Randy Adler showed a little South Side of Chicago Attitude Sunday to win a clutch victory in his quest for a two-peat.  The Tinley Park, IL driver defeated current points leader Tony "Sandman" Williams in the finals at Super Chevy's Milan, Michigan event.  Adler's 2006 Pontiac GTO Nitro Coupe roared to a 6.489 in the finals against Williams' 7.723 at 167.36 miles per hour with a sick race car.

Once again, the low qualifier for the event was a Barklage, this time Cody in his Pontiac GTO Nitro Coupe.  He ripped off a 6.227 at 229.26 miles per hour to cover the field by a bunch, but he couldn't answer the call on race day.  Canadian ace Larry Sinke and Steve Bruce of Lawrence Kansas were the two semi-finalists.

Hometown hero Jim Adams of Milan, Michigan came out on top of the Pro Charger Bracket One Brawl in his trusty Chevy Camaro as he downed Cleveland, Ohio racer Nick Akoury in t he finals.  In the Jeg's Bracket Two Battle, Milan, Ohio racer Brian Hurst won the "battle of the Brians", defeating Brian Baehr of Maumee, Ohio.  The DOT Street fight was just that; when the dust cleared, Mike Dunlap of Northport, Ohio was standing in the winner's circle, having defeated T. J. Linebaugh of Saline, Michigan in the finals.

The overall winner in True Street was driving a 1932 Chevy.  Reggie Shelton of Burton, MI survived back to back laps on the race track and a cruise to rip off a scorching 9.105 lap in the finals against tom Skrentner of Waterford, MI.

After taking a week off, the O'Reilly Super Chevy heads for famed Route 66 raceway in Joliet, IL for an August 10-12 blast presented by classic Parts of America.
