Jeff Paulk, out of Social Circle, GA, had his new Chevy S-10 Limited Street truck out at Montgomery, where he qualified 9th and lasted until meeting race winner Huettel in the third round.

Bob “Giant Killer” LaBrecque, from Dallas, GA, had his ’73 Nova hatchback hooked up and on a tear at Montgomery, but a rare redlight start in the Modified Street semis ended his day prematurely.

Prattville, AL’s Neil Messick debuted his 605 BBC-equipped ‘37 Chevy truck in the 5.30 class at Beat the Heat II. He qualified 17th, then made it through two rounds of eliminations before being stopped in a double-breakout match against eventual event winner Tucker.

Also debuting a new 5.30 ride was Columbus, GA’s Eugene Dixon with this wild Monte Carlo. The paint detail on this car is exquisite. Dixon placed 16th in qualifying, but lost to Messick in round one of racing.

Johnny Phelps of Greenville, AL, placed his big-block powered Malibu 26th of 27 on the 6.0 qualifying sheet, then fell in the opening round of eliminations to Lebron Hill and his ’68 Camaro.
