In the Aeromotive Nitro Coupe Challenge finals, Cody ran a 6.343 in his 2006 GTO Aeromotive Nitro Coupe at 213.16 miles per hour to defeat Winters, who had issues with his beautiful '57 Chevy Torco Accelerator Nitro Coupe. The win gives Cody a little breathing room as Williams went down swinging in the semis.

In the ProCharger Backet One Brawl, Kingsport, Tennessee racer Tommy Hall drove his '68 Camaro to a edge Jeremy Honneycutt of Bakersville, NC in the finals.  Hall used an .003 reaction tine and a 6.038 on a 6 flat dial at 113.78 to take the 1/8 mile race; Honneycutt's dragster roared to a 4.837 on a 4.82 dial at 140.83 miles per hour but couldn't overcome Hall's starting line advantage.

In the JEGS Bracket Two Battle, Cody Spears of Church Hill, TN drove his Chevy II to a win over Martin Adkinson of Trentron, SC.  Spears overcame a major problem on the starting line when Adkinson threw down a .009 light and won with a dead-on 8.882 on his 8.88 dial at 77.61 miles per hour in the 1/8 mile race.  Adkinson recorded a heartbreaking breakout 10.969 on his 10.97 dial.

The DOT Street Fight lived up to its name at Thunder Valley, with Huston Kneece of Vanclause, SC taking the quarter-mile win in his '78 Chevy.  Kneece dialed a 17.99 and ran an 18.088 at 74.37 miles per hour to take the win.  Runner-up Mike Hinkle of Cola, SC, dialed a 13.98 but ran a 14.09 in his '86 Corvette.

The Aeromotive Jr. Dragster Challenge rocked at Bristol with Coty Blankenship of Hurley, VA surviving a tough field for the win, edging a red-lighting Taylor Wallace of Traveler's Rest, SC in the finals.  Coty ran an 8.68 on his 8.66 dial at 72.96 mph in the finals; despite a narrow -.002 red light, Taylor kept in it to run an 8.115 at 79.79 miles per hour on his 8.10 dial-in.

After a week off to catch our breath, the O'Reilly Super Chevy Show heads to San Antonio Raceway for an event presented by JEGS  October 5-7.
