Hossler qualified his “low rider” ’06 ‘Vette on the pole with a 4.105/177.16 blast down the eighth mile. That lap also gave him Low ET for the event for Nitro Coupes. Only a top end charge by Nitro Coupe Series points leader Ken Walsh, who ran an out-the-back-door 177.93 on his 4.152 lap for the Top Speed of the meet kept Hossler from “running the table” at this event.

Bruce Stedry
Hossler’s '06 Corvette, built by Duncan Race Cars, trailered Iowa Nitro Coupe racer Jim Knapp’s 2002 Camaro in the first round and Nashville, Tennessee’s Jeff Byrd and his ‘78 Camaro in the second.
Hossler met Chicago area fireman Bruce Stedry in his Jerry Bickel-built ’07 GTO powered by an Oddy’s Automotive supercharged engine in the finals. In that final round Stedry put a holeshot on Hossler, taking the advantage off the line, but Hossler ran him down and passed him on the top end for the win.
Stedry got into the final round when number 2 qualifier and current points leader Ken “The Kid” Walsh broke off the line in the semifinal.
