Bracket 1 racing saw local racer Bob Locke of Whiteland, IN, racing his ’86 Camaro (probably running a Billy Glidden-built Chevy under the hood) to the win in the fast bracket class. Locke’s Camaro ran 10.088 on a 10.06 dial for a holeshot win over Roger Bishop’s ‘75 Monza. Bishop, from nearby Mooresville, IN, ran just six-thousandths off his 8.81 dial, turning in an 8.816./151.61mph effort, but couldn’t over come his opponent’s better reaction time on the starting line.
The JEGS-sponsored Bracket 2 race saw Jeremy Poust of Plainfield, IN, run 10.844 on a dial-in of 10.82 at 116.36 mph, taking down fellow Hoosier, “Jammin” Jordan Eaker from Camby, who broke out in the final, running a just-under-the-dial 10.01 on a dial-in of 10.02. His losing speed was 132.18 mph.
Street Fight bracket action saw Billy Fields of Shelbyville, IN, driving a ’86 Camaro win on a double breakout race. Fields ran a 10.979/ 121.67 on a dial-in of 10.99 but got the win light when Nick Finney and his ’90 Camaro. ran way under his dial recording a 12.908/100.58 on a 12.95 dial.
