Jack Sprague, Hornaday’s teammate, finished in fifth place in the No. 2 Chevrolet sponsored by American Commercial Lines. Sprague, also a three-time NCTS driver from the Harvick stable, was a contender throughout the race, even leading one time for three laps.
“Ernie (Cope, crew chief) and the guys gave me a great truck today,” Sprague said. “We had good pit stops, Ernie made good calls, so another good run and good finish for us. We were just a little too loose for a little too long and all those cautions were hurting us. We needed longer runs and about the time my truck would start to come in, we would get another caution. We had to loosen the truck up just a little early in the race because we were just a little tight.”
