Doug Horween (above) from Lox, Fla., brought out his blown ’68 Camaro to compete with the big boys and ran a best of 4.40 on Saturday. He ran Walsh in the first round of eliminations, putting a .091 holeshot on Walsh’s .206 reaction time, but “The Kid” ran him down with a 4.029/185.31 to Horween’s 4.477/167.72

Tony Mazza of West Palm Beach was the Bracket 1 Brawl (electronics) champ driving an ’81 Camaro, which was #1 qualifier at 8.761. In the final Mazza ran an 8.800/152.83 against 7.720/168.35 for the dragster of Dave Triplett from Eustis, Fla.

Thomas Ball brought his sharp ’56 Chevy wagon from High Point, NC. Running 10.80’s at 120 mph, he lasted until the third round of Bracket 1.
