At the top of the heap, Kevin used one of Ray Frank’s Sniper intake manifolds and paired it with a Full Throttle Performance 1,500cfm air door. A FAST ECU and eDist control everything but the length of Keith’s burnouts. KT built the headers with big ol’ 2¼-inch primaries pushing through an X-pipe and sedate Magnaflow mufflers in the middle of the 3-inch diameter exhaust system.
This kind of largesse demands an equally pugnacious drivetrain, so Keith opted for a Precision Industries torque converter (3,000rpm stall speed) for a straight TH400, mildly tweaked and with a shift kit, then completed the link with the third member via a bulletproof Denny’s (Nitrous Ready) driveshaft. A Currie Enterprises 9-inch housing holds Posi-Traction differential, 3.89:1 gears and 35-spline axle shafts. An ididit steering column advances the stealth vibe. The shifter is right there where it should be, not by the driver’s knee.
Stealth, yeah the stealth part is just that, though a sharp eye would certainly goggle at the extra long axle studs and those 10-inch wide Wheel Vintiques steelies holdin’ 315/60 M/T Drag Radials. Otherwise, he’s wooed by a nicely done restoration. The exterior and all the other visible changes were conducted at Kennedy Customs in Selner, TN. Not no stripper here, either, boss—wood bed floor, full new interior, Auto Meter gauges and a “nice” Pioneer stereo system. Vintage Air is a must in the heat of a Memphis summer.
Keith goes hunting at twilight. Red’s a funny color at night. Could be on your truck…or in your eye, blood.
