This shot is a final round at the famous Shuffletown Dragway of a Quick-8 program between Vandergriff and the legendary Ed Hoover. Notice how stock appearing Vandergriff’s ’57 was in those days.

This infamous ’55 ran only twice that I know of and it wasn’t very fast. It is the only mid-engined Pro Mod that I have ever seen. Check out where the driver is sItting…right next to the supercharged big block.

This ’56 Nomad showed up in the mid 1990s at Darlington (SC) Dragway. It featured a nitrous oxide-injected 615 ci big block. This car is still running today but with a blower motor and a different paint scheme.

There have been many versions of John Scialpi’s Wap-a-doo supercharged ’57 Chevy. Scialpi is the acknowledged West Coast Pro Mod Chevy hitter and still races wedge-headed motors. This shot was taken at a Sacramento doorslammer race.
