| Texas racer Greg Lair has been racing fast doorslammers mostly with the old IHRA and more recently the NHRA since the mid 1980s when the Top Sportsman/Pro Mod class was invented by the IHRA. Lair really got serious about the class when he bought Blake Wiggin’s infamous “Wicked Wanda” Pontiac in the late ’80s. | Fast forward 25 years and Lair is still racing fast doorslammers, but instead of buying someone else’s car he went to Car Craft All-Star car builder Jerry Haas’s shop in the St. Louis suburb of Fenton, Mo., and ordered a 2012 Camaro that could race in any class from NHRA or ADRL Pro Stock down to Top Sportsman. |
