SUPER CHEVY SHOW A GO IN ‘07
Roger Gustin’s Super Chevy Show series returns in 2007 with a 17-stop schedule. Added for this season are new shows in California, Kansas City (MO) and Oklahoma. The season kicks off the weekend of February 9-11 at Bradenton, Florida, and concludes in mid-October at Tulsa Raceway Park in Oklahoma.
The second stop on the tour will roll into Fontana, California, March 23-24, at the storied California Speedway. Fontana’s event will replace Pomona on the schedule and will play out at the NASCAR track’s vast multi-faceted facility. The new event promises to be a big hit as there are virtually no space limitations for show car attendance. Drag racing action will take place on the track’s brand new national event-caliber surface.
The series intensifies during the heart of summer with stops in 13 different states, climaxing with a three-event-in-three-week whirlwind stretch through Indianapolis (IN), Reading (PA), and Milan (MI), before resuming for the home stretch two weeks later at Route 66 Raceway in the Chicago suburb of Joliet (IL).
And look for all the coverage here as MaxChevy is dedicated to bring you all of the race action and show car excitement throughout the entire season. So book your vacation now and we’ll look for you at the Super Chevy Show.

GM’S 40TH ANNIVERSARY F-BODY BASH
As many of you know, the Camaro/Firebird Enthusiast community gets together a few times a year to celebrate what is arguably the most popular American muscle car in history. Some of the largest events include the F-body Gathering in Atlanta on Memorial Day weekend; GM at Carlisle; Camaros at Carlisle; Camaro/Firebird Reunion at the
National Corvette Museum; and Camaro/Firebird Weekend at the State Fair of Texas.
To complement these stellar events, the World Wide Camaro/Classic Chevy International Association and General Motors have announced a very exciting get-together for next summer. A 40th Anniversary Celebration of the Camaro (and Firebird) will take place at the General Motors Technical Center in Warren, Michigan (a suburb of Detroit), from August 9-11, 2007. This is the weekend before Woodward Dream Cruise, so this will be a great time to take a vacation and hang out for what is arguably the largest gathering of muscle cars in the world. Additionally, there will be a 50th Anniversary Celebration of the 1957 Chevrolet, the car that started it all.
More details are forthcoming -- but we suggest that you mark your calendars now.
Because of this celebration, GM has decided to take a one-year hiatus from the National Corvette Museum event -- but the plan is to return the following year.
We hope you'll be able to join other Camaro (and Firebird) enthusiasts from all over for a great time in the Motor City. The GM Tech Center is something you will want to see -- and the GM folks are quite certain they’ll have some other “surprises” for you, to boot!
MaxChevy friend and supporter, GM’s Scott Settlemire, who unquestionably is the Camaro’s biggest cheerleader, will be working with the F-body community to find two host hotels next to each other so that the ongoing tradition of "late nights in the parking lot!" can continue. Be sure to check in regularly as we will post that info when we get it.[9/27/2006]
