A block is a block is a block, right? Wrong! Certainly this aluminum cylinder case qualifies as exotic from both price standpoint as well as pure form, and it has matriculated with more attributes than the GM C5R block and markets for about $4,000 less. So what if it costs more than an entire engine, it still represents a bonafide bargain.

In several other ways, the new Warhawk LS7X block represents the next step up for Bill Mitchell and World Castings. No other entity, save for GM Performance Parts, has attempted to bring such a bogey to market. Yup, the GMPP LSX cylinder block costs less though it has cast-iron construction rather than aluminum.

But that’s Mitchell. He recognizes genuine need, makes sure that the numbers make fiscal sense (Bill doesn’t do vanity), puts the best thought into the arrangement, and brings it to market like nobody’s business. It’s thinking like this that will ensure the Chevrolet name for generations to come.
