Hardware is heavy duty and first-rate. TORCA clamps are torqued to 45 ft-lb with anti-seize compound (supplied) on all threads.

What appears a big stainless steel pillow is actually a technological wonder for a very moderate entry fee. A completely smooth 3-inch diameter pipe passes through the muffler body but the sound pressure waves enter strategically placed slots at either end, are channeled around the muffler body, and returned to the gap 180 degrees out of phase, thus canceling the low rpm buzz.

Pal and master mechanic Kit Shedlock helped install the system in his home garage. With the two of us working elbows, it took 20 minutes to change out. We both did a Tony Soprano “Ooohhh!” when the motor fired for the first time.

There is a caveat, however. When the engine’s cold, the system lights off with a distinct and violent crack, so if there’s a cat nearby it will tend to be up a tree as fast as its claws will allow. The camshaft is a little too hairy for the blower application and it lopes with a vengeance. Through the Corsa it’s so palpable you can almost taste it. Naturally, when the loud pedal goes down, the dead could easily rise. There’s no pussy-footing around, no sneaking home late, no leaving the party on the sly with the Sport system. Now, where’s that boy? Don’t need no Lo-Jack, cuz. Got Corsa!
