Trash removal was simple application of a sanding plug to eliminate potential detonation hot-spots. Although the bowl is to size, the short-turn radius has been laid back on the pushrod-side wall raised the ceiling 0.050-inch and widened the runners 0.030-inch per side.

With the rough porting finished, HPS turned to cylinder head sealing. Although the engine won’t run anything greater than a 9.0:1 static compression ratio, it will see 20-22psi boost. Matt painted the Dykem around the combustion chambers…

… and then applied clamps to the cylinder head and the gasket to make a template to scribe (to the edge of the hole in the SCE Titan 0.043-inch thick gasket) for the wire that will help the gasket stay in place and seal the cylinder under high positive manifold pressure.
